Claude Monet site

… Confluence of the Petite Creuse and the Grande Creuse. Mother Nature's miracle. Repeatedly painted by Monet, Guillaumin and the Impressionists, source of inspiration for numerous poets including Maurice Rollinat, the site is magical. Or perhaps considered diabolic by certain painters today who still strive to capture the constantly changing light and colours. The meeting of the Grande Creuse, finally calm, and the Petite Creuse, still capricious, in an exuberant nature still remains a source of inspiration or even meditation. A walking trail, leaving from Fresselines, leads down to the Grande Creuse, joins the confluence then runs along the Petite Creuse up to the Puy Guillon footbridge.
